Every AI tool we use daily has picked up the same habit. Open a file in Claude and it knows what the file is. Paste a spreadsheet into ChatGPT and it offers to chart it. You don't start every conversation by explaining where you are and what you're holding. The context is the prompt.
Media software hasn't caught up. Most DAMs that bolt on AI give you a chat box and a blinking cursor. You select two product shots, open the assistant, then type out what you've already shown it: “these two images, the bags, I need…”. That's work the software should be doing.
So we changed how the FileSpin AI Agent starts.
Select assets and the agent suggests
When you select assets in FileSpin, the AI Agent reads what you've picked and puts a short row of next steps right above them. Select two product photos and you'll see:
Remove background
Social versions
Share link
Send for review
Update metadata (e.g. status to approved)
New collection
One click and the Agent runs it on your selection. You don't write a prompt or explain again which files you mean.
If none of those fit, “Ask about these…” opens the Agent with the selection already attached. “Which of these works for the autumn campaign?” works without naming a single file.
Why suggestions, not just a chat box
A blank prompt assumes you know what the tool can do. Most people don't, and they shouldn't have to. The suggestions double as a map of what's possible. A merchandiser who has never heard of background removal finds it the first time they select a product shot.
They also shorten the distance between intent and action. Getting a set of product images onto social used to mean exporting, opening an editor, resizing for each platform and uploading again. Now it's select, click, done.
Where this goes
Selection is the first signal the Agent reads. It won't be the last. The aim is simple: the first suggestion should be the thing you were about to do anyway.
